Shopping For The Perfect Pair Of Yoga Pants

One might think that a pair of yoga pants is a pair of yoga pants—is a pair of yoga pants; this is not however the case. There are yoga pants that you wear in the gym or at the spa and then there are the yoga pants that you wear out and about, to work or even to the nightclubs.

Active Wear for Girls and Women

Sweats and leggings; Capri pants; cargos or yoga pants (we used to call them spandex back in the 80’s) can all be worn as sports clothing or as a fashion statement. Today’s yoga pants even come with flared bottoms which takes a little bit of the sportswear out of the item and inserts in its place—a little bit of fashion. These yoga pants for women can be purchased somewhere as low key as JC Penney’s, spas and yoga studios; or more high end designer clothing stores. Recently a problem has been encountered in some high schools however. Apparently, the eighties—with their spandex and off the shoulder tops—were way ahead of their time. Some high schools have banned the wearing of yoga pants as being too sexy. It’s true, yoga pants are form fitting… But that’s the point!

Not too Tight, Not to Loose… They’re Just Right

Buying yoga pants is no more difficult than buying any other type of sportswear. They should fit just right. Too tight and they will bind you and restrict your movement; this goes against the whole idea of yoga pants. Too loose and they will be bulky and stretch out to the point where they may slide out of position during an inopportune yoga pose. ‘Downward facing dog’ comes to mind.
Going along with the small, medium, large, extra large and ‘holy cow!’ sizes is difficult at best, particularly when ordering online. So be sure to try on several pairs of yoga pants before deciding on what sizes you will generally order and wear.
